Meet the Artist

My name is Barbara Monte and I am a mother of three and a full time watercolorist living in the beautiful state of Rhode Island.

My painting journey began in 2015 when I started painting nursery art during my second pregnancy for my little girl’s room. I was so excited with the results that I thought, why not share with friends and neighbors? As a result of their overwhelming support I decided to open my own Etsy shop.

Over a decade later and thousands of watercolors painted, this has been an exciting journey of juggling being a mom and painting full time. I have since expanded from nursery watercolors to include prints and custom watercolor orders and live wedding guest painting. I find joy painting the ocean and seascapes, influenced by our life in the Rhody state.

I am so humbled and thankful for the support I get from my customers each and every day and I hope that my work brings a little more beauty and meaning to my clients’ spaces.
